Nick Adams BA (Hons), PgD UCL; ARB

I am an ARB registered architect with nearly 15 years’ industry experience.

Before setting up my own practice, I spent over 10 years working for a number of design led practices in London, where my focus was on hotels, restaurants and private houses.

I have also worked closely with Historic England to refurbish and extend many Grade 1 and Grade 2 listed buildings, creating contemporary homes whilst conserving historic features.

My current practice is focused on private houses, extensions and refurbishments, a number of which are on site and due for completion later this year.

Through a combination of project brief development, hand drawing and 3D computer visualisations, I work closely with my clients to establish their requirements, capture their aspirations and realise their project’s full potential.

Once the concept design has been agreed I develop the scheme design to a fully coordinated proposal and take it through planning, building regulations and on to completion (if required).

I try to keep the design solution simple and well detailed, using natural materials and exploring local architectural styles and methods of construction; I can produce both contemporary and traditional designs.

With an excellent eye for detail, I ensure that my drawings and construction information is completed to a very high standard so that my clients are not exposed to unnecessary cost increases due to inadequate designs and specifications.

I will suggest ways to save money; sometimes small adjustments in the structural design, standardisation of bespoke elements or consideration to the construction method can save time and money, which can be spent elsewhere, such as improving the finishes or furnishings.

My main objectives are that the client’s aspirations are met, hopefully exceeded, and the project is completed on time and on budget.
